Look back on all your goals, efforts, milestones, and most of all, your budols, because, yes, they count! As a community, our shared passion for all things home, lifestyle, and shopping binds us together, and we’re more than proud to give them the spotlight.

We’re excited for you to discover the budols that have earned universal love among our Kapitbahays. Without further ado, here are some of our favorite home finds from the past year — just in time for that much-anticipated 13th-month pay. (After all, what better way to utilize it than by treating yourself? Dasurv.

Living Room Lovin’

For a lot of us, 2023 was a year of upgrades. We loved seeing our home become more elevated and polished. Take a cue from Kapitbahay Rommel Villanueva Alviar, whose triple-halo chandelier screams Mansion Eleganza Extravaganza. The best part is the price tag — just 640 pesos. Lakas maka-sosyal, but won’t break the bank. Now, that’s what we call a steal!

Other things in fashion are sofa beds, a fave of many, including Kapitbahay Jay Cabrera-Estacion and countless others. Elevated furniture like these gives us a more relaxing time while watching TV, facilitates more comfortable conversations, and is a total treat for any visitor coming over.

As for the centerpiece of any sossy living room: Let’s not forget panel mirror walls. If you’re an OG at Home Buddies, you might remember how much we went crazy over them. To this day, so many Kapitbahays are still in love with how they look. And who can blame us? They’re gorgeous!

Your Best Bedroom Ever

There’s no place like home, but more accurately, there’s no place like our bedrooms. They’re our most comforting companions after a long, hard day. Among everything else in our home, our rooms are the ones we personalize the most. Since it’s uniquely ours, it’s only fitting that we go all out to make them feel special.

When it comes to going all out, our beds are at the top of the priority list. Cozy covers are everyone’s favorite thing, and it looks like gingham prints are the breakout stars this year. They’re classy, minimalistic, and versatile — literally the perfect match, kahit ano mang aesthetic.

Speaking of minimalism, Kapitbahays are also falling more and more in love with the idea of simplicity. That’s probably why these Korean blinds (a.k.a. combi blinds) are a big hit in the HB community — they differ from the usual curtains because they’re more modern and chic. Plus, it’s easier to adjust how bright or dim you want your room to be.

And we can’t forget the finishing touches: R&R essentials. You’ve got your incense sticks, you’ve got your candles. What’s next? Of course, a classy candle warmer — now a total must-have in the HB community. For example: this lily-of-the-valley candle warmer from Kapitbahay Justine Co is giving coquette. Buti na lang you’ve got lots of design options to choose from!

Winner Winner, Kitchen Dinner

While we at Home Buddies love all things pretty, we’re also huge fans of the practical stuff. That’s why we buy a lot of necessities for the dining room and kitchen, including appliances. Our tita and tito selves feel a little bit more complete every time we purchase something we can use in cooking. Instant serotonin boost — and everyone in the household wins!

Remember when air fryers are all the fad? Well, we get the hype. The big downside is that it can be such a chore to clean. We’re lucky that Mayora Frances shared our sentiments and budol-ed us with this air fryer from Daewoo. We knew we had to have it in our kitchen, too.

For cookware, of course, it’s not enough that they get the job done — they should also look amazing as a setup. That’s why we’re huge fans of this estetik set of pots and pans, courtesy of Kapitbahay Roxette Jose. It’s non-sticky, easy to use, and compatible with induction stoves.

And, of course, our budol highlights would not be complete without a set of kitchen organizers. Just check out this one from Furniture Source, recommended by Kapitbahay Jeiel Morales Preclaro. At Home Buddies, we are marupok over clear trays and tupperwares. So why would we miss out on this 990-peso set? It was a total jackpot moment.

Bathroom’s Biggest Budols

Finally, our community’s favorite na pa-glow-up: bathrooms. With all that wear and tear, it’s only fair they get some extra love. From renovations to shopping hauls, we love going all out for our bathrooms.

Because we’re citizens of a sweltering-hot country, we love to shower — sometimes more than once a day. That’s why any kind of shower enhancement is totally welcome, including this Stiebel Eltron shower heater reco’d by Kapitbahay Jell Zerna.

Technically, she got it from 2019, so it’s not new-new — but it won over the hearts of our community this year. Four years later, Kapitbahay Jell shares, it’s as good as new. It gets the job done in 10 seconds, handy to use, and most importantly, tipid sa kuryente. Triple bingo!

‍We’re also giving long-overdue airtime to some of our everyday cleaning besties, including this aerosol foam cleaner from Solbac. Mayora herself and so many Kapitbahays rave over this brand, and it’s easy to see why. With cleaning products like this, we can easily keep our homes in tip-top shape without breaking our backs or emptying our wallets.
