Sa sobrang excited natin, we prep for it as early as September. And who can blame us? Even the world loves us for it, and even Mariah Carey adores us for it!

Tall, Fair, and Pretty

Little to no space for a Christmas tree? Not an issue for Kapitbahay Abigail Dacillo Ahon. In fact, that only meant she got to have more fun with it! Her slim, “diet” Christmas tree — which you can find on Shopee — is a product of pure fun and creativity. She had to think out of the box to make it look as special as it was.

Cute ornaments, such as woven, heart-shaped rattan trinkets and adorable teddy bears made the tree look even more personal. She added gold and white Christmas balls, a classy, checkered ribbon (bought online and from a department store), and sparkling Christmas lights to tie them all into one theme. Oh, ‘di ba, who says a Christmas tree needs to be grand to be beautiful?

Dripping in Gold

Christmas is the season to give. Admittedly, it’s also the season to splurge for some of us. Go big or go home, right? Kapitbahay Vida Navarra-Lacurom Dmd understood the assignment — her 9-foot tree steals the spotlight in her living room. It’s made of polyethylene and PVC, which’ll last her for years. The tree stands at P12,999, pero sabi nga nila, pang-forever na ‘yan.

Kapitbahay Vida went even further and scored two sets of 500 LED string lights. The rest of the decor, including a stylish raffia base cover (something like this), was from Shopee and Lazada. The total cost? A solid P21,000 — and it’s worth every peso. Not only is it budget-friendlier than hiring a professional designer, it’s also a bang for the buck for Christmas lovers like herself. Bongga, ‘di ba? Talk about Christmas tree #goals.

Every Kid’s Dream Tree

This fairy-tale tree was brought to life by one super momma with all the creativity in the world: Kapitbahay Bless Mandap Apolo. “No glitters for my little kiddos,” she said. “Kailangan child-friendly.” So, how does the magic begin? With handmade stuffed toys and Christmas balls, of course.

She went for a soft pink and blue color scheme, from the ornaments to the flowers, kaya naman, it’s a dream come true for kids and kids-at-heart alike. All this love and imagination captured the hearts of Kapitbahay Bless’s chikitings. Take a page from her (story)book to make the holidays magical for your little ones.

A Very Candy Christmas

Halloween may be over, but Christmas is also a good time to satisfy your sweet tooth. If you’re looking for the perfect trap to lure Hansel and Gretel in, Kapitbahay Michelle Trinidad knows just how to do it.

Kidding aside, though, just look at this decadent tree: It’s a confectionary Christmas come to life. The cherry on top (pun slightly intended) is that most of the ornaments are DIY-ed by Kapitbahay Michelle herself. She used foam fillers, colorful felt fabrics, silicone molds, and other materials from your nearest hardware store. From the classic Christmas candy cane to the sundae cones (made with styrofoam balls pa, imagine!), this labor of love is the stuff of our sweetest dreams.

Burlap Bliss

All #TeamKahoy peeps can take inspo from Kapitbahay Bets Beltran Laguipo’s rustic tree. If you think about it, Christmas trees are the perfect decor if you love nature-inspired interiors. They add that touch of greenery (or white, if you prefer white trees) in your living room. So, what’s the best way to decorate? Eh ‘di add more wood, mga bes.

Kapitbahay Bets’s ornaments are made with wood, native buri, and dried anahaw. She added artificial leaves and green and silver Christmas balls for the perfect blend of kahoy and kagandahan. Finally, a jute burlap ribbon completes the rustic aesthetic. Charan! Feeling nasa woodlands tayo this Christmas. (Alexa, play evermore by Taylor Swift.)

Tree-Free Christmas Tree

On the other side, we know setting up a Christmas tree is a lot of work. Plus, for those who don’t have it, it’s nakakahinayang to purchase because it’s only used once a year. But here’s a secret: You don’t really need a Christmas tree to make it work. Just look at Kapitbahay Fuente Daniel’s setup: Minimal budget, minimal effort, but sobrang bongga sa style.

So, how did he turn such a lamp into a Christmas tree? It’s simple: Just add all the holiday decorations. Hang some Christmas balls here and there, and glue artificial leaves and wooden ornaments if you have any. Unique, Pasko-fied finds like these instantly make our homes merry and bright (literally).

Bo-Ho-Ho, Merry Christmas!

What if wala talagang space, even for a slim Christmas tree? We’re happy to report that a lack of space is never an issue for our creative and resourceful Kapitbahays. As the saying goes nga naman: “If there’s a wall, there’s a way.”

Kapitbahay Rej Buendia’s boho-inspired Christmas setup is a total game-changer for anyone who doesn’t have the space — or the energy — for a Christmas tree. She used wood and twine to hang the tree base and decorated it with handmade macramé ornaments. The result is the stuff of our Pinterest fantasies: Not only does it scream Christmas — but it’s also a gorgeous statement piece.
