Who’s up for a BOO-tiful Halloween? This year, we’re taking things up a notch and seeing how we can dress up our homes to match the occasion — because no one’s ever too old to experience the spooky season with a bang!

Here are some spooktastic home decorations posted by our Kapitbahays on our Facebook page (plus some of our online finds) to inspire your Halloween home makeover.

Have A Merry, Scary Christmas

With the resurgence of Jose Marie Chan memes greenlighting the coming holiday season, we Filipinos are undoubtedly already getting a head-start on Christmas preparations. However, Kapitbahays Frances and Rochelle show us that holiday prep can go hand-in-hand with Halloween with their super creative, Spooky-Christmas-hybrid decorations — ang tataba ng utak!

While not minimalist per se, there’s still a lot to love about Frances’ setup that you can take inspiration from. Mixing the two occasions into this marriage of Halloween spook and holiday cheer, Frances put together a “Christmas tree” adorned with pumpkins, autumn leaves, skeletons, and ghouls for a frightfully delightful treat for the eyes.

Frances also threw some Halloween-themed pillows on the couch, added a spooky decor to their bar (shoutout to the adorable “Drink Up Witches” sign), and arranged other knick-knacks around to bring the whole theme together.

Rochelle’s take has a warmer, autumn vibe rather than spooky, so if making your home a cozy, orange-hued wonderland is more your game, their decor will be up your alley. Like Frances, Rochelle switched out the Christmas tree ornaments for a set that suits Halloween — sans the skeletons. With lovely autumn leaves and pumpkins of various colors decorating the tree, a dash of spook from the throw pillows and table decor, and a vibrant orange curtain, this Halloween setup earns an A+ in our book.

Are you loving these autumn looks? You can try decorating your Christmas tree for fall with lovely maple leaf garlands or loose leaves — or both for extra depth! If you’d like to go the not-so-scary Halloween route, these hanging signages can also be cute additions to your tree.

A Sprinkle of Spook

If you’re not looking for anything big, Kapitbahay Neil posted the cutest little decorations for small spaces.

Peep the tiny pumpkins and ghost candles — nakakagigil! Neil also used some adorable, hanging jack-o-lanterns to liven up the place and discreet faux spider webs to capture the Halloween atmosphere.

Kapitbahay MarCus also did a great job with small home decorations, turning the corner of their living room into a Halloween haven perfect for selfies.

Complete with jack-o-lantern lights, hanging bats, witches, skeletons, and ghosts, this corner setup has everything you need to give your space a spooky touch without decorating the whole home.

Emulate their spooktastic designs with Halloween streamers, pumpkin-themed LED candles, and jack-o-lantern string lights!

Pumpkin Patch

For those who love decorating for the spooky season but want something more subdued, these pumpkin-themed arrangements by Kapitbahay Karl are the perfect inspiration.

Classy and sleek but chock-full of character, these small additions of tiny pumpkins, autumn leaves, candles, and orange hues give the minimalist space a not-so-spooky-but-very-Halloween feel.

Kapitbahay Ria’s home also wonderfully captures the essence of a minimalist Halloween with on-theme throw pillows, pumpkin decorations, and an autumn-approved wash of orange.

Ria added some skulls, adorable ghost plates, candles, and bat-themed wall decals to the mix to tie everything together for this quirky yet elegant ensemble.

If Karl and Ria’s kalabasa-core decorations fit your fancy, you might like these mini paperweights or candle holders to add to your setup. You can also add a spooky touch with 3D bat stickers and other Halloween-themed stickers that are perfect for decorating your wall.

Enter If You Dare

Meanwhile, if you want outdoor decor but don’t want anything too out there, you can take notes from Kapitbahay Nimfa’s haunting window accents.

With pumpkins, ghouls, and monstrous eyes glowing out onto her front yard, Nimfa created a unique experience that’ll earn double-takes from those passing by.

According to Nimfa, these decorations are called “window clings,” which they bought from Amazon.

Another great idea is incorporating a projector into your outdoor decor, like Kapitbahay Jercyl. They set up an adorable Halloween-themed slideshow, projecting cute ghosts (very ‘Casper the Friendly Ghost’ vibes) to their home’s facade.

Or, if you’re feeling extra, you can try a DIY cemetery for your front yard like Kapitbahay Jenny.

Jenny used carton boxes from the grocery store to make the headstones, then added some fake spider webs and a skeleton to bring the cemetery to life (pun intended). Don’t forget to pagpag!

Love Jenny’s DIY cemetery? Try these skeletons and spider webs for your creepy outdoor concoction.

A Wee Bit Wicked

Their setup is excellent for those who love showing their spooky spirit loud and proud, featuring bright Halloween-themed couch covers, matching throw pillows, and an array of pumpkins.

Another very kabog setup comes from Kapitbahay Karen, who shared a gorgeous table spread that looks straight out of a Tim Burton film — great for those who love all-black-everything. This tablescape features skulls, black roses, and black candles as the main centerpieces, complemented by skeletons, crows, cauldrons, witch hats, and even eerie eyeballs for a hauntingly beautiful arrangement.

Give your living room a cute Halloween touch by mixing and matching some themed throw pillow covers! And, if Karen’s ghoulish display inspired you, you can try adding skull decorations and realistic crows to your own setup.

It’s Halloween Every Day

If you’re the type to love all things spooky all year round, then Kapitbahay Milk’s “moody-maximalist” style is just for you — think sosyaling aswang vibes.

With skulls and skeletons decorating their gorgeous, plant-filled tabletop, Milk perfectly captures their #TeamHalloweenAllYear vibe. It’s discreet but very characteristic of their style and lets them incorporate that Halloween flair into their everyday lives without it ever going out of style.
