“Salt air, and the rust on your door.”

You never needed anything more until you realize there may be more ways to level up your room with Taylor Swift-inspired decors and home finds.

While we’re still bitter that Taylor didn’t bring The Eras Tour to Philippine stadiums (why, Mareng Taylor, why?), we can bring it inside our homes. “From sprinkler splashes to fireplace ashes,” we’ve got tons of material for a Taylor-inspired home. After all, our Kapitbahays’ homes are so “gorgeous, they’ll never go out of style.”

Here’s how to channel your Swiftie heart into your home — featuring every era. We’re only covering the debut to 1989 here, so stay tuned for Part 2!

Taylor Swift (Debut)

So you’re one of the OGs, because this album kicks us back to warm and sunny days in the countryside. Your ideal date may or may not involve sneaking out late or tapping on your window. (A universal experience, especially for those who never grew out of their hopeless romantic phase!)

Relieve those days by adding rustic charm around your home. If you’re #TeamKahoy, mixing and matching farmhouse-inspired decor with a modern home is easy. Try wooden blocks or Nordic-style trays as decor and soft, neutral-toned linens and tablecloths.

Fearless

The Fearless era is glitzy and romantic but grounded, so you must balance metallics and cowgirl charm. A flashy decorative bowl, for example, goes well with a woven mirror and screams “headfirst, fearless.” Go for soft pastels to accessorize para feel na feel ang fairy-tale vibes.

Kapitbahay Nicole Ann Vergara shows how you can balance gold tones by creating a work of art using a romantic color palette. Oh, ‘di ba, now you can stare at the faded picture of a beautiful night and reminisce about the innocence of young love.

Speak Now

The Speak Now era is full of purples, purples, and more purples. While it’s a pretty color, it isn’t easy to terno because it’s also quite bold. But that also means it would make a great statement piece. Look for purple curtains or upholstery, then build around it by contrasting it with neutral colors. (Here are more tips on how to decorate your home with purple.)

Kapitbahay Jobs Estrella spotlights a purple chair with a gold mirror and cream accessories for the ultimate Speak Now vibe — the CDs on the top shelf are just icing on the cake. Needless to say, this setup left us all wonderstruck and enchanted.

Red

“Autumn leaves falling like pieces into place, and you can picture it after all these days.” We know it’s long gone, but the bittersweet taste of heartbreak and nostalgia stays for all our fellow Red lovers. So, if you’re all about the cozy feels, this is your sign to make your room feel like a state of grace.

The color red may be a bit intimidating (“burning red” nga, as per Taylor herself), but it’s a good color to work with. You can easily pair it with other earthy tones like browns, creams, and even pale greens. So bundle up, light a pumpkin spice-scented candle, and drape your sofa with a red shawl or scarf. (Please don’t leave it in your ex’s sister’s house.)

1989

If you were lurking on Tumblr in 2014, you’re probably familiar with Taylor Swift’s 1989 era. We’re talking Polaroids, red lipsticks, and peg boards that left a mark on pop culture. There’s so much to personalize, so it’s an opportunity to turn your room into a wonderland.

Decorate your wall with your favorite photos, albums, and posters — it’s all about the screaming color. Here’s a great example from Kapitbahay Roan Jukay Tolentino, whose #TeamPuti and #TeamKahoy music corner looks like the stuff of our wildest dreams.
